  • I've always enjoyed the Four Preps as they were a part of my growing up.

  • @pjcooley27527 Thanks for your comment!

  • how about 'the girl in the shade of a striped umbrella'..is that one available????? thank you

  • The more I explore The Four Preps, the more impressed I am with not just their incredible vocal skills as singers and arrangers but their terrific skills as live entertainers, songwiters, wits and selectors of so much first-rate material. One person I played their material for described them as "The Lettermen with a sense of humor" but then added "Actually, they were more versatile and better than The Lettermen." I must agree. The Lettermen were excellent. The Four Preps even better.

    Thanks for the compliment!

We wrote this one to have some fun with the topless bathing suit craze. We were always ready to poke fun at the latest fad.

Glad you enjoyed it down under. Oz is our favorite place on earth.

    All the best,

  • nice song.never heard it before.Bruce, you guys were great and we even heard your songs here in Australia.I have 1 of your lp's and a few 45's

  • Yes for the time period it was a daring song like "Wake Up Little Susie" by the Everly Brothers. But the melody and harmony of this song is so delightful that it leaves me feeling happy. There is a sense of innocence in the way it sung, much better than the graphic lyrics in music we hear today.

  • This is kind of a daring song for the time period, at least for a teen-oriented vocal group.
