@Candlepinman Yea we ran the Garland pins through the pin cleaning machine and put new red stripes on them and as we were putting them back in to get the American Products junk out the previous owner of the center stopped and had told me the Garlands we were putting back in though they looked great but were in fact 20 years old... The American Products pins we just took out looked more like 20 years old not the 3 months they only were. It's simple the plastic is just way to soft for candlepins..

We gave the American Products pins we got brand new in Nov. 2010 a shot on our downstairs 12 lanes of the 22 lane center. They would replace the 15+ year Garland pins. After 3 months the brand new pins looked sounded and scored worse than the old Garland pins. This is obvious why it happened, the plastic is too soft and the fact a candlepin can be hit anywhere on the pin. Until American Products sees and acts on this they will only be making duck and five pins because their candlepins are junk.

@BIGGREENLEAF1 Yup, they are crap. Always have been. they just don't last, score as well or looks as good as Garlands. The Garlands are expensive, but last forever. There is a centre I know that have been using the same set of Garlands for 30 years. With cleaning twice a year they still look good and score well. They're gonna need some newer pins soon, but until then, they're just fine.

The wood was just random scrap pieces hanging around the shed when we bought the property. The lane itself is crap (crappy wood, someday I'm just gonna by some good ply wood and make it decent) and only about 15 feet long. The pindeck area is pretty realistic though. It's fun to chuck balls in there.

Thanks guys. I got most of the stuff from bowling centres. Kickback Rubber from my home lanes. Plate, pit curtain, pindeck gutters (not in use in this vid, but you can see them in other vids. They are green) and most of the pins from a friend in Maine who runs a centre.
