@thegirlnextdork Hiya back. Don't worry about the 3 months. For what it's worth. I used fleece liners and fleece nappy covers for my son and I never had any problems (even overnight). The fleece liner helped keep the damp away from the baby's skin and the fleece outer cover kept things in (sometimes it got "funky" after a long 12 hour sleep but no leaks.

Hey!! For a first-ever sewing project- that's great. And thanks for putting this up onyoutube- this is just the kind of help I need now- Im really wanting to stop wasting crap and putting loads of disposable things into the rubbish. Just made my owm wool-wash-and I do some cleaning for money and am not using dangerous chemicals. These pads are my next adventure- been thinking about this on and off for years. Thanks

@thegirlnextdork I take forever to finish XD. the fleece has been good (but i have only used light days to liners) and my flow shortened! a perk thanks to cloth. I am hoping to try the medium flow with the fleece backing and PUL wings...I really hope to make a video! and I want to see more of your creations :D
Loved the way you picked up fun patterns. What did you use as a water-resistance barrier?

@mrsotter19 Wow, did I not respond to your comment? It's been 3 months. Yikes, sorry! I didn't do a water resistant barrier at first, just for ease. But it can lead to accidents. I'm experimenting with fleece now - using fleece as the "wing" attachment and using a fleece insert at the bottom of the stack of flannel, too. :)

I got a machine 5 years ago and i decided to FINALLY use it I opened it and GASP!! no foot pedal!!! I have to buy it!!!
oh and about how many pads can you make with one yard?
how many: light (7-8 in) regular(9-10) heavy/overnight (11-12)
I am going to start but I would love you help <3 I don't know if I should buy a whole stash or make my own.... I want to make a wing holder with PUL and cute cotton print but with either elastics to hold the inserts and the inserts with hemp bamboo, ect :)

@XLolitaXRoseX One yard goes a loooong way. I haven't kept exact track, but I've made over a dozen (mixed) pads for me, a dozen for friends, and inserts for all with ~3-4 yards of fabric, mix and match. Good idea with the PUL - I am going to try experimenting with fleece, as I've heard that it's rather water-resistant as well! Keep an open mind with your design (because there are bugs to work out!) and have fun. Sounds like you have lots of great ideas! Good luck with the foot pedal!

@thegirlnextdork I got it! and I made some liners (light days for me since my flow is very light) with the fleece backing and 2 layers of flannel. They are great because they are a bit more breathable than with a PUL All in one pad I bought. I want to make a "shell" that has pull and you just attach the wingless pads. I think the PUL will help with heavy/nights. I am working on the regular pads and then heavy and next the "shells" XD how are you?

@XLolitaXRoseX Wow, so awesome!! So great to hear your progress and brainstorming! You are just rocking and rolling. Putting me to shame! :)
How does the fleece work out for you? I have made a couple light ones with fleece backing too. I think it's so wonderfully comfy. Otherwise I have been a big-time slacker (as you can tell by my horrendously late reply). Be well! ♥
