Optimus Prime, in need of a gun or anything close to a gun, asks Megatron to transform. After a few failed attempts due to extensive warfare, Megatron is able to transform and Optimus Prime was able to stop the Insecticons' syndrome.

@Holloway6151975 Though I agree with you on the most part and I'm a RiD Armada fan, this is why they didn't
1 - He has a similar energy cannon, his buster gun seen in RoTF and sadly removed in DoTM
2 - He has a faceplate, it's removable so to convey facial emotions better. Besides, it's seen in combat situations when he's going all BAMF.
3 - Can't. They;'re aiming for today's audience which means they can't use 80's songs unless they want to lose sales. A rock ver.would have been nice though...

Michael Bay Could at least given Optimus a energy cannon, and give him his mask because seeing OP with lips just isnt right to theTF fans from the 80's i felt robbed. Plus they they need to bring back a cameo appearance of Stan Busch song "Touch"

@Holloway6151975 Couldn't 1- Majority of the viewers were from Rid and beyond and saw Megatron as a tank/ cybertronian jet/ and cybertronian car/jet triple changer. Also, Michael Bay was strict on the whole no mass shifting thing. He considered it a bit of cheating and the majority of the films have the transformers being equal to their alt. forms. This is why Starscream looks weird, so he wasn't taller then Optimus Prime.

@zosh10 Hey, it's called mass shifting, OK. It's just like Jetfire in robot mode is the same height as Optimus, but in jet mode he can transport the entire Autobot faction.
