  • Katie, doctors treat the patient not the disorder. I work in a field where the medieval practice was to do what you are saying. If you were up to date on the profession and the advances in developmental disorders you would know that treatments by organizations such as OMRDD are about fostering independence, individuality, inclusion, and productivity. Your limited understanding of the situation is no foundation for educating yourself or anybody else. All you are doing is brainwashing yourself.

What I am suggesting here is that the use of vague diagnoses and drugs cocktails to curb "behavioral" disorders is counterproductive . Over 4 million children under the age of 15 in the US are taking psychotic drugs... some of them are under the age of 3, and parents need to be educated on the side effects of these drugs and of how their treatment of their children impacts them in the long run. Check out the DSM, read it for yourself... few psychiatrists are aware of consequences.

  • I am an adult now with ADD and I wished my parents got help for me when I was in school. So now I have alot to catch up on because I did not get the help I need to deal with my ADD.

  • @thomasprichard

I am currently working on developing alternative solutions for children diagnosed with learning and behavioral disorders so that the problem does not compound into what you are currently experiencing.

  • good video

  • @katieconklin You are talking in terms of one way, black and white...people like you are acting like the ones who choose to give or take them are wrong. It's a choice and it saves people from suicide...I don't want to talk about this anymore. I am one of people that it saved first hand and you are saying that it was wrong.

  • @katieconklin And what I am saying is that yes it not for everyone and diet environment etc, can play a huge roll if changed, but you can not cut it out for everyone! There is a very short list compared of people who died compared to the ones that it has helped. I am one...I would not be here today if it was not for those drugs you speak of.

  • The Point here is that how do you know what effect the drugs could have on you until one day you may go and get a gun and blow someones head off?

The psychiatrists don't do any SCIENTIFIC tests for the CHEMICAL drugs they are giving people... and parents don't question the doctors because they feel as though the doctors "know better".

Alternative therapy and placebos have been proven to be equally as effective for people diagnosed with "mental disorders", so there is no excuse to use drugs.

  • @cate2728

The information I am sharing here is not contrived, it is information readily available on the internet, information compiled by experts who actually have done research on this.

Example of the side effects of drugs:

    Columbine Shooters- taking Luvox (antidepressant)

    Thurston High Shooter - Prozac

    Heritage High Shooter - Ritalin

    Heath High Shooter - Ritalin

Benjamin Bratt- 13yrs old committed suicide- Paxil

Matt Miller - 13yrs old committed suicide -Zoloft

    The list goes on.
