Canadians demand an inquiry into police actions during G20 in Toronto, resulting in the violation of Civil Liberties of peaceful protesters on June 26, 2010. Over 900 peaceful protesters and media were arrested while a police car burned for hours with no attempt to put it out.
This video, produced by "introspectionists studios", is a photo montage tribute to peaceful protesters who participated in the G20 protest in Toronto .
Thank you to BC artist YukMC for writing this piece specifically for the video.
"State of Emergency"
A gang of politicians has descended on T.O.
The city's going crazy cos they got no place to go
Now they pilfer and they filter all the cash we paid in taxes
When we workin so hard daily makin money breakin backses
Now it impacts us all when the police flex their muscles
They clench their fists tightly blood is drippin from their knuckles
They think they can subdue us even when we protest peacefully?
How they think it's ok will forever be a mystery
History has shown through the course of evolution
That trying to brow beat us just can't be a resolution
The solution is so simple, just ease up on that trigger
And be a bigger man, show you're pride in our land
Hand in hand we are in Canada our rights were fought for brutally
A peaceful loving nation, to the world that's what we used to be
This summit has undone everything we've worked towards
A State of Emergency... now what you waitin for?
State of Emergency x3
Bury your head in the sand, and do it urgently
State of Emergency x3
We letting the Police get away with Murder, see?
State of Emergency x3
They hide themselves in this hole called bureaucracy
State of Emergency x3
We need to stand up and tell them we're free!!
So now I'm locked down for just raising my voice
I blame the G20 cos they left me no choice
I had to rally in the valley all the way to the hill
And ask these burning questions that aren't just about a spill
Brought my megaphone I'm not alone the streets now filled with people
Good people, real people, from teachers to their pupils
Dilated, instigated, pushed to brink and beyond
And all the while the cameras catchin how Police respond
Did it dawn on them that this is not the way you treat civilians?
Especially when this has cost us upwards of a billion?
I just can't comprehend those types of dollar amounts
I'd like to stick it to 'em at the polls where it counts
But that's not gonna happen while I'm stuck in a cell
I know I've been caught in my own little hell
The days pass by, the summits gone but I'm still here
I hope I will get out of here before next year...

Seems to be unstuck now. Please "share". Voters need to be reminded of this violation on our civil rights & democratic processes.

yes, free speech for all, including the members of the black bloc.

@MrNinjaBait
Canadians deserve to have their Constitutional rights upheld.
Although I understand the desire by some to protest anonymously, it gives the police and agent provocateurs perfect cover & opportunity to engage in illegal practices. If masks are removed and protests are peaceful it would only leave the police with their pants down with no one to expose but themselves.
Masked/violent protesters only serve to discredit other protesters, who incidentally, outnumber the black bloc.
