It's like one of them is just trying to get some exercise while the other is some annoying guy who won't let up, going 'Hey! Hey buddy! Let me on too! Hey!'

These are Syrian hamsters, and they are territorial. As adults, they must be kept one to a cage and will fight if placed together. Some of these fights will lead to the death of one or both of the animals. Just because they don't fight during the day or when you're around them does not mean they won't fight at night, when they're most active, alert, and have the most energy.
