A lesser known Sega Genesis title released in 1992 by Game Arts (who is mostly known for the Grandia Series, and being the developement team behind Smash Bros. Brawl) in co production with legendary anime studio Gainax (Evangelion, FlCl, Gurren Lagan). Music is by Fumihito Kasatani, who also worked on Game Art's Silpheed series, as well as others.

This is the first level theme, which sort of has a Celtic thing going on for it, as does most of the soundtrack. It fits the game very well, which is about a Magic Girl who can shoot chargeble lightning ANYWHERE (!!) and has a host of animal familliar buddies who fight with you and can be leveled up.

I chose the Japanese boxart for the picture because the American version is (of course) embarassing.

  • /watch?v=DX4uB2zkahs i did a music cover of this theme...

  • I wish the latter half of this song were extended a bit. It gets so amazing at that point, and then it slows down just as it gets you fully pumped! What a tease!

  • Alisia may be Celtic or Norse from my interpretation on the runes that are displayed in the opening sequence. Dragoons were the old European Army who would ride horses and wield spears (Hence Dragoons for example in Final Fantasy, who have spears for their weapon on choice, if you're familiar with the class) But this fox roides a dragon...And we all love Alisia Dragoon<3

  • That is exactly what i mean.

  • so true, at least Alicia doesn't look like Red Sonya in the japanese version

  • The Japanese cover looks way better than the UK cover.

  • Man, I still have this game. <3 What a work of art- in all regards, even the difficulty!

...Guess who's gonna be playing Alisia Dragoon tonight? XD

Thanks for the memories, and I'm glad you put the Japanese cover up! :3

  • You obviously don't play games now. You're dissapointing.
