My Top 10 Progressive Melodic (metal) Breakdowns

Just a little video i made on some of the songs i like that definitively have breakdowns within them. I am not a metalhead but generally speaking musical breakdowns are more profound and "epic" within the metal music genre. I know my choices of songs arent all melodic and progressive cause i know there are loads of sub-genres but i picked them because i like to listen to them. Also please, the order at which i put them in reflects on my views at the time of listening to them and making the video, i could easily swap some round depending on what views i have at a particular time but i do admit the breakdown in the song "the glass prison" is probably one of the greatest ive ever heard, its like the whole song is based around and built up for these breakdowns and breakbeats within the song.

I have tried to include many variety of styles of metal.

actually breakdowns originated in bluegrass. the music is really fast paced and technical, and when they would slow down and "break" the rythm "down" people it was easy to dance to or whatever the hillbilies do, hence the term BREAKDOWN started. and, just as a matter of opinion, people that "hardcore" dance should all just punch each other in the face until they die.

@Dimeshit666 agreed man. Progressive to me are bands like periphery, born of osiris, dream theater, meshuggah, spastic ink, between the buried and me, after the burial, animals as leaders, and deftones.
