Hey guys my sister is the blonde on the end would love to see those photos. She now lives in the states. This group also has another song on YouTube we can all work it out. I was in love with bill haha I was only 7 haha. Megan still looks as gorgeous as she did back then and still keeps in contact with bill I think would love to see more clips as they won on Australian bandstand for best new talent I'm sure !!!

I believe Ford began using this jingle in the U.S. for the 1969 model year, and I believe the slogan lasted for most of the 1970's.

Hard to believe TV in Australia was still in old B&W back then, even though this Ford TV commercial was shot in colour, mates!

@MsRm57 I stand corrected!! I reckon all the boys were hunks, and I remember the day the whole band came to my mother's house at Holden Hill (in Adelaide), in their brand new Fords - all pale blue with the Going Thing logo on the big truck, all lined up along the street. I have old black and white photos taken on the day. Cheers.

@MsRm57 Very interesting to hear about Bill and Megan. I believe Di Turner is a presenter on Foxtels TVSN shopping channel these days and she looks terrific. I had a big crush on the bass player of the Going Thing - I think his name was Garry. Does anyone know where he is today? Geoff's oldest son is the lead singer of Adelaide's heavy metal band Skintilla. Check out their King of Kings video on youtube. He's a chip off the old block! We miss Geoff every day, he was a real character.

My husband wasn't in the Going Thing but was guitarist in another Adelaide band with Geoff.. They both shared a passion for fishing & continued a close friendship until Geoff's passing. A very sad loss & will always with be remembered with wonderful memories.
They won't be singing and dancing like that if the guy slams those breaks on!
