Bug Out Bike - Part 1
This is a video "Cruzzer777" and myself shot for bugging out on a bike in a city enviroment. Now we didn't use our actual Bug Out Bags, however we still packed bags and we are training to ride out to the mountains to escape the city in an emergency situation. It was an 18 mile round trip ride throughout two counties and three cities. We need to condition ourselves to ride 70+ miles round trip for us to reach the mountains on a bike. We noticed there were no ideas on YouTube about anyone riding a bike to bug out. If you saw what happened to Louisiana during the Hurricane Katrina, knew they had 5 days or more to exit the lower half of the state. Most people waited till 2 days before it hit to leave. This created a huge 2 day long backup of traffic statewide. Everyone was fleeing north to avoid the storm. Don't take my word for it, look in my favorites to see for yourself. This idea for a "Bug Out Bike" is for city folks that don't have a tough time riding, away from traffic, to leave a busy and congested city area. This is fairly cheap to buy, and its reliable. We bought the Giant Escape 2 @ Jones Bikes in Long Beach CA. and We got Cruzzer777's bike repaired at Main Street Cyclery in Seal Beach CA. There will be more on the Bug Out Bike coming soon. Thanks for watching, please add and subscribe to my channel. I am not a pro to video making but let me know what you think abou this video. I need suggestions to help make them better.

  • you live in california? Sorry about your states gun laws man. its really unfortunant

  • @rqm420 - Yes, I know it is the worst state to live in if you are a Prepper. I will eventually buy a home in another state, later on. For right now, it is where I am at. I make the best of where I am. I love the weather, but the people really ruin this place. Thanks for the comment, and for watching my videos. ~ Biggs ~ TeamAlphaTaskForce

  • Nice bike, I picked up a new GIANT "Seek 1", and I love it. I find it pretty comfortable to ride, and was a great bang for the buck, considering it even has Disc Brakes! I found some nice insulated bottles at a local bike shop, and usually fill them with ice before filling with a beverage (juice, or water). And the beverage will stay ICE COLD for almost the entire day! Nice video!

  • @laney50w - Glad to hear! I agree they are great for a first time biker, cheap and forgiving. I would def recommend the disc brakes, but I have not have a single problem with mine so far. I have heard other brands failing on disc brakes so be sure to do your homework first. You are right about the drink holders they make a difference, and it sure is nice to drink water on the ride without stopping. Thanks again for your comment and the visit. ~ Biggs ~ TeamAlphaTaskForce

  • You can also bike on the San Gabriel River all the way to the mountains in Azusa. I bug out there all the time for trout fishing. The LA river bike path is another great bug out route.

  • @doomgiant - I use some of those trails on my bike runs. Great locations to ride on. Thanks for the comment. Hope you keep enjoying my videos. ~ Biggs ~ TeamAlphaTaskForce

  • Cool video.

  • I just bought a mtn bike and i have some gas motors laying around. Should i put one on the bike to get where i need to go faster but can pedal when im out of gas or need to be quiet?

  • cool vid. I just was wondering if a single speed would be better for a "B.O.B." as there is not so many parts?

  • Good video, btw you might want to invest in a chord lock b/c you can run it through your back wheel around the frame and object your locking it to and then through the front wheel and lock it that way no one can steal the wheels. that could turn into a bad situation if bugging out. Also very nice bike.

  • @Alfox94 - I have loved doing these videos, and even got more topics coming on the way. I have just purchased another Bug Out Vehicle, and can't wait to do some video work on it. Stay tuned because more videos are coming your way! Thanks for watching and commenting! ~ Biggs ~ TeamAlphaTaskForce
