No, my last comment is not right. I use the motor in the same way that you. I guest your wheel are too small. Nice job.

I think that your motor are too close to the ground. You should put the motor in the other direction away from ground. See my video.

Pretty cool but it takes all the redneck fun out of riding a mower.

@22hocman The motors I'm using are electric wheelchair motors that I purchased off eBay. I'll be giving a full list of all the components I used as well as where you can find them once I finish the project.

@RobertSmith3 okay great how far off are you from finishing the project?

@22hocman I still have quite a bit to do on the electrical side and a little more testing. The progress will be slower now since school has started back, so I can't honestly say when I'll be completely done.

Using larger 13X5 inch rear wheels will give you tons more traction and power. Google 'turf saver wheels bmikarts' and get them for 40 bucks a set - they have a four hole pattern that mounts directly to your wheelchair motors.

@TheRemoteMower Nice, you just saved me about 30 minutes of research as I know these current wheelchair tires will not last forever so I knew I'd have to replace them sooner or later, but wasn't sure yet where you can buy replacements. Thanks again!
