Finally I made a video of my Apple Lisa 1. The Lisa 1 is an extremly rare computer - it is believed that only 20 Lisa 1 still exist worldwide. It is as rare as a Apple 1, Xerox Alto or Kenbak 1.

The Lisa 1 had 2 prototype "Twiggy" drives; these drives used an own kind of diskettes and they were not really relieable. Thanks to John Woodall from vintagemicros.com I could copy some unserialized LOS 1 (Lisa Office System 1) disks and install them on a profile - this is basically what this video shows. I shortened some sequences - the Lisa is an old, slow lady ;-)

  • Very nice demo!

What is wrong with the display at 2:07?

My Lisa has that problem all the time...

  • @willemsruben1 the display had to "warm up" but usually it is a simple setting on the video board to correct that jumping image - it is an easy fix

  • First gui? lol no.

  • @richardmaudsley77

the first commercial successful GUI, ok?

  • No tienes idea del dineral que tienes de colección con esa maquina! Gracias por enseñárnosla

  • @suspekt29 Yeah, the problem was though, it was way too much money. The other problem is that many people got their lisa 1's converted into lisa ii's when they sent them in to apple. And lastly, Apple let you trade your lisa 1 in for a Macintosh Plus computer.

  • I can't imagine why this is so rare, it does look like it does shit.

  • Could it run Crysis on it?

  • @alker33 Lisa was a commercial failure, Macintosh was the first commercially successful GUI-based OS.

  • @alker33 Thank you for the quick reply! I also send you an email about this problem ;)

Well, when I hit the video board gentle wit a screwdriver, the problem goes away for an instant.

Do I have to adjust one of the potentiometers?

  • @Hildron101010 Yeah and it boots faster then Windows Vista!
