The funny thing about Duchovny is that the last two syllables of his last name OVNY, phonetically, means UFO (OVNI) in french.

@phix95 well, it make sense now! Those positive traits that you have mentioned were probably the reasons why we like Mulder! Haha! Though I don't think I like him less with his negative ones. It's just that, in real life, it's really hard to live with someone like him. I would have to constantly worry about that person.

@ketsunigeri Lol! He may appear that way sort of, but he's actually very dedicated and sensitive. He makes mistakes but he is so devoted to Scully and her health. He thought of killing himself when his beliefs "caused" her cancer. He's very witty and isn't afraid to say "fuck off", so to speak, to some a-hole that talks trash to him--and they usually deserve it. I think he'd do ANYTHING for ppl he loves.

@phix95 LOL! I think we are both crazy for liking someone like Mulder. He is anti-social, arrogant and hard-headed bastard. I am surprised Scully was able to stick with him for a long time.

@phix95 i am aware of his mono-tone-ness in the x-files..most of the time, i watch his reactions on given situations as i watch scully's, He is not convincing but then, it's a subjective matter. you find him a good actor, i don't. anyway, i like ( maybe, love ) Mulder's characterization in the x-files. I had a crush on him ( Mulder not Duchovny ) when i was younger. i still do until now.

@ketsunigeri Don't mistake his mono-tone-ness for bad acting. He has that quality but I think he still gets the character across and that characteristic even exemplifies his character.

@iamfreeize .....i personally think that anderson is the better actor compared to duchovny...he is not that convincing but, i still like him because of Mulder-Scully romance.

I personally feel that there has never been a better coupling of 2 fantastic actors on a television series then David Duchovny Gillian Anderson. They made movie magic totally believable .
