u hav very good teaching skills. how ever it would've been easier for others to understand if you also explain tat there are more galaxies inside the sphere as well. and they expand with the rest of the galaxies. About how astronomers define the age of the universe : what they do is look in to sky as far as possible to find objects. If they can find the distance to these objects then tats the age of the universe as we know.

hey im in 7th grade and i want to ask you something. if gravity says that every thing is getting pulled by each other (like the the earth and the moon or the solar system) then why does the universe expand?

The expansion of the Universe is a result of the Big Bang explosion. Everything is still flying out. It's just like asking "if gravity pulls down, how can I jump up?" You go up for a while depending on how hard you jumped, but eventually gravity pulls you back down. Great question!

You say explosion, but from what little I've read there was no explosion, just and sudden expansion of everything..?

A sudden expansion that happens on the order of 10 to the -20 or so power seconds is a more rapid explosion than anything we can explode on Earth. If that's not an explosion, then yes, it was a sudden expansion.
