Ex-hostage Ingrid Betancourt asks Colombia for damages - BBC News

Former Colombian hostage, Ingrid Betancourt, has asked the government to pay her damages for the six years she spent in rebel captivity.

She was kidnapped in 2002 by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia - the FARC - and rescued in a military operation in July 2008.

Jeremy McDermott reports from Colombia.
