This was a simulcast of his 15 minute Sunday night radio show, which aired at 9pm(et). At the time, Winchell's TV edition was alternately sponsored by Gruen Watch Company, and Carter Products' "Rise" shaving cream [and Arrid deodorant].
I was told by my father Red Rowe that Mr. Walter Winchell mentioned my birth in his newspaper saying something to the effect that "The Red Rowe's family had a baby girl a little rose bud on Christmas Day"...that would have been 12/25/53....where would I look for this? Thank you Kathyleendee@aol.com. Kathleen Dee Rowe
Forget Winchell for a moment....a Gruen watch cost $55 in 1953? WOW!

This guy was good. Stop hating on him. Check out his account of how pussy boy Jack Paar bitched out cunningly.
