Koreans had been quarreling with each other before the annexation. Japan had nothing to do with the quarrel. Even today, Koreans like quarreling with each other. Just count the number of lawsuits raised in South Korea. Even Kpop singers like Kara and Tohoshinki are quarreling with the management companies.

Quarreling with each other has been a part of Korean tradition. There were lots of riots in Korea before the annexation. Queen Ming was quarreling with Daewongun. Peasants against Yangbans. Yangbans against Baekjeong. Donghak Peasant Revolution, Imo Incident, Gapsin Coup....

What Koreans started doing as soon as Japan had left Korea in 1945 was restarting the quarrel and massacring each other in a large scale. Korea was divided by Koreans.
