If you didn't get the chance to visit A Story of Islamic Embroidery exhibition, it is now extended throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan!

Zawya.com: " The region's first comprehensive exhibition of Islamic embroidery, which includes more than 200 rare textiles from the 17th to the 20th century, unveiled at a private opening reception on 6 April 2010 with an extraordinary performance by young musicians from Kazakhstan and Mongolia. The performance is part of an ambitious series of programmes coinciding with A Story of Islamic Embroidery in Nomadic and Urban Traditions, the exhibition which is presented under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and is on view in Gallery One at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi."

the Uzbeck embroideries are very medium... the Moroccan embroideries from Fez or Fes are among the less interesting I have seen ...

I am so glad they created this video, as I could not take any pictures to share of course better always to preserve the exhibit so many beautiful works in this collection incredible and proud to attend in person what an amazing experience to be there and to learn about the earlier cultures as the Nomadic people..the ba...nana bread and juice is also the best i ever had there..peace Ramadan Karim
