    Use a chisel tip, it's better because of the larger surface area and can contact the component you are soldering and the solder. use a conical for SMD work...

    Someone said the conical tips are no good. Told to stay away from them. Yet, Welleman has a professional ESD proof one with 0.4 mm conical tips. Isn't this very personal? Doesn't it have to do with what you can be used to?
