Mi papa era ing civil y mi mama maestra bilingue.
I am from Cabimas and I have always wanted to know how was the life of americans here in my hometown. I thank you for posting this video, it gave me a good picture of what I wanted to know. I know all of these places. It is sad that these oil camps are almost in ruins. I wish they can post a video on the oil camps named Holywood and Las Cupulas in Cabimas.
For all its romance, life in the fifties must have been somewhat dull for those oil workers - and perhaps, a bit more so, for the locals. But, for all that, their children must have found it rewarding to live in those environments. I have occassionally run into children of parents who worked for US companies in LA in those days, and their faces glow when I ask them to tell about their time, growing up in ___
OMG!!! "one the most remarkable highways in the world, THE AUTOPISTA" hahaahah, just can't believe it!! the autopista is exactly the same in 2009!!, no progress at all!!!.....
These videos are fantastic. I grew up and worked on that area between Cabimas and Lagunillas including Bachaquero. I am a venezuelan working in Asia for over 5 years also for the oil industry here like my father did for 36 yeras in Creolle at Lake Maracaibo. Regards Jose Torres
