Track: Buttonwillow Raceway, Config. 13
Date: 10/6/08
This part features me to finally start pushing the car, as I have spent the most of the day to get reacquainted with the track and the untested high-speed capabilities of the car. This is the fastest track this car's been to since the rebuild. And from what I know, this is "a whole new car" I have to spend the next couple of years to learn. It's not fast yet mainly because of me and the skinny tires it has now (205/45/16 Bridgestone RE01R), but I know that soon, this car will be serious business.
This is the first time in two years since the MSM has ran here last (I was there last in 7/2007 in an RX-8). This is sort of a homecoming for the MSM and me as this is my most familiar track and it is where I gathered the most of my track experience. There's a lot of catching up to do here, and I was lucky to even get a sneak peak of what this car is really made of.
I highly doubt it'll take you a couple years to get the max out of the car. Just continue to have fun with it man. I think you've got a good idea about line taking and general technique, so just try and feel it, maximize the grip and keeping the momentum up as much as possible.
Also, the car looks like it's getting a little loose in areas. I don't know if it's your throttle inputs or if it's inherent in the setup of the car. Either way, keep it up!

Thanks man, I'll definitely have fun with it. I know it's a very good car, I just need to drive it a lot more. After that day, I have lot more reason to do so; I haven't had that much fun in a car in a long while (as well as scared, you'll see in the next vid from another session I'll release later).

And about the looseness: a bit of it is from the skinny tires not holding full throttle on exits, but most of it is caused by my inputs being very rough. I have to work on being a bit more sensitive with my modulation if I want to do that midcorner to rotate the car or keep the car from scrubbing speeds on long sweepers.
