@mckessa17 I feel for you and your right, Leaf fans deserve better than what they have got over the last 40 or so years. Harry Ballard, owner of the Leafs 70's-80's, used the fans loyalty to fatten his wallet while the team suffered. The team look like it might win a cup in the 90's but they were always 1 great player away from it. Lately with questionable trades (for Kessell for 2 1st round picks) it doesn't look good. But we in Boston had to wait till Sinden left to get a cup.

@5inthehole In 1976 The Flyers beat the Leafs in 7 games and the lost to Montreal. In 1977, The Flyers beat the Leafs in 6 games and later lost to Boston. Phillie had a great team back then and should have won a couple of more Cups except for the fact Montreal had a dynasty in the late seventies winning several championships. Being from Toronto I am a long suffering die hard Leaf fan.

@mckessa17 I have forgotten; what happen to the Flyers the year following their 2nd cp win vs Buffalo? Did they get long in the tooth? Did to many important players retire? Or was it the injury bug? Kate Smith wouldn't sing at home games?

@5inthehole The Flyers and Leafs had some nasty playoff series in 1976 1977.

Flyers fans may have been bummed out but who would ever think they would beat Bobby Orr & Espo in the 74' finals to win the Lord Stanley's Cup? I think it was worth the wait, don't you? Once they lost their brickhouse goaltender, Bernie Parant, all future dreams of a cup would have to be put on hold. People talk about how great some of todays goaltenders are. Not many would even be worthy of carrying Parants stick. He was something to see when he was on his game.

@BronxNYE206St I agree...although they kind of are now albeit slightly different...I actually like the silver that they've added to the classic design...they went through some really ugly years of uniforms and crests...glad to see them back with the more classic design...Sabres - Canucks would be a great final...both teams entered the league together and both have lost out in previous trips to the final.

Flyers got their revenge in the Stanley Cup final in 1975.

@MARILYN19481 revenge was not so just by my opinion. I'm not sure what Flyers were better Buffalo in 1975 and especially in 1974 against Btuins. But result is result. As I'm thinking best Flyers team was in 1980.
