There were also ARAB massacres of Jews. There was also a multi-nation Arab military coalition that sought to wipe out all Jewish settlers. They could have negotiated and settled into a peaceful agreement, but they choose war. After a long struggle they were militarily defeated.

Arab Israelis could leave Israel, but they don't because they have more freedom than in most of Israel's neighbors, especially Syria.

Israel has how many thousands of Palestinians in administrative detention now as well as over the 60 years of their racist/apartheid regime ? How many has Syria jailed in the same manner.
