The fourth exercise from the St. Marys Golf Fitness Academy is called 'Stake in the Ground'. The "stake" of course being a golf club used to stretch the hip flexor, while engaging the abdominals and glutes. This golf fitness exercise requires the use of a golf iron to stretch the hip flexor in order to improve stability and flexbility in your golf stance. The vast majority of golfers lack the strength in the hips to provide a steady, thorough golf swing.
