The people who did most to awaken the Welsh national identity were the 1959 Liverpool City Council !
By flooding Capel Celyn in the Tryweryn Valley against the wishes of the people of Wales, they proved that the Welsh can never steer their own destiny without total independence from England !

This is interesting to me. My family imigrated from wales to the united states a few generations back,and have no memories of that country.Iv'e found we have a interesting family history.
