Yes, I think this may be one of the first, if not THE first custom song in which rhythm and lead are played on the same chart. The purpose of this song is to show you guys that I found out how to make chords and lead, not for the songs quality, cause I know it isnt that great lol. I also threw in a TTFAF-styled Red Snake. Enjoy. :)

This song is called Let it Go and is on GHTunes if you wanna play it.

In this song I found out how to make hammerons NOT convert into strum notes, but I'm sure lots of people already know that.

In order to do this you NEED to know how to use the Step Recorder, it is the most useful tool given to us by Neversoft in this creator. To use it, go to GHMix and select Step Record, its one of the top icons. There are lots of different speeds at which you can record but no matter which one you choose it will be exactly on rhythm.

Ok first, the Rhythm track must be the playable track. Anytime you want the lead guitar to play you must first play it on Rhythm (using the Step Recorder otherwise it wont work.) After your done with the parts you want to be lead, switch from Rhythm to Lead and play the EXACT notes over the Rhythm.

Thats all there really is to it, your just shredding on rhythm, but playing over it with lead to make it SOUND like you have both rhythm and lead in the same song, but your just playing Rhythm. May not sound exactly right but thats the best way to shred with lead guitar noises and play rhythm chords in the same song.

Note: You CAN both shred and play chords on Rhythm using the Step Recorder, but the solos just sound like crap, and thats why you record lead over the rhythm. Make sure the rhythm is at a slightly less volume than Lead, and palm muting may also make it quieter depending on the amp setting for Rhythm. More or less, its just manipulation rather than actually playing rhythm and lead at once, its the best/only way I've seen to do it.

If this explanation confuses you just download my song and check it out for yourself, its pretty much self explanatory.

  • just curious, did you copy tracks from songs on rockband ? at 1:41 it is pretty much the exact same as caprici di diablo, effective though. ^_^

  • Thats just a coincidence, I made this before Caprici was even released. O_o

  • -_- ive seen better

  • So have I, in fact, I never even claimed it was good, so stop leaving fail comments.

  • my farts sound better than this song

  • My farts have a higher intelligence level than you. Read the description where I say I KNOW it doesnt sound good it is made ONLY to show rhythm/lead on same chart. lrn2read.

  • somebody has way too much time on his hands

  • cool song

  • I guess this is why we leave music making to artists like AC/DC or Bullet for my Valentine or something. I honestly dont like it but its better then i could do. Leave it to the artists.
