Get away from the kit. Grab your Hi-Hat and give it some lovin'. You will be surprised what a few days spent alone with this amazing instrument will do for you. Post some comments on your results. Let me know if it made a difference.

  • What type of hi hat is that like what make?? It sounds cool

  • This is kind of the concept my cousin used to learn the drums. He took parts of his kit away from the rest and focused on those pieces. He started with the cymbals, just focusing on the different sounds he could make with all of them. The he took the snare and messed around with that, then did the same with the toms.

After he messed with the bass drum he put it all back together and tried to combine everything he learned about each individual part.. And now hes better than I could ever be :|

  • You're a dude. Well said, everybody must do this! And yeah, nice shirt bro!

  • Everytime I close my hi-hat [say when I'm using left foot independence], it gives off this kind of weird noise, like a continuation of the ring from the two hats hitting together. I've noticed that the two hats aren't perfectly horizontally level like yours and most others, so could this be the cause of the problem? I don't want a new hat as the one I have is great, and plus I don't have the funds =D An answer from anyone would be appreciated. Thanks and keep posting these great videos!

    Dale.

  • for all drummers out there who have either lost a limb, or two, or three...and/or have become otherwise unable to use foot pedals...I am currently developing hardware to enable you to play again...just as good, or better, than u played before your accident. I am a T12 level paraplegic from a car accident in 1992. I play a fully acoustic kit. videos will come later as the inventions become protected under patent laws, but you'll be able to drum with NO pedals what so ever for kick/hihats.
