Morocco votes: Slums breeding extremism - 05 Sept 07

One of the biggest issues in Morocco is poverty and all of the country's political parties are promising to tackle the problem ahead of elections.

Slums are a common sight in the cities of the kingdom and some have become a breeding ground for extremism.

Al Jazeera's Zeina Awad sent this report from the Sidi Moumen slum in Casablanca.

It is so easy to judged a religion that has been dehumanized by the world media. The real war today is that one against Islam. A religion that preaches kindness, love, acceptance of all religions and of Jesus, that teaches dignity and protects women rights and speaks of the beauty of serving God. Unfortunately, like any other religion, people preach what they find acceptable and misinterpret here and there, but if one wants to learn about truth Islam , one should read the Koran !
