  • A tad hypocritical from a company that used billions of CFC producing styrofoam containers throughout that time :(

  • McDonald's didn't start using Styrofoam until about the time this commercial was made. The campaign to stop using Styrofoam didn't start until the 1980's. Styrofoam was thought to be a great invention when it was first introduced. It kept your food warm, or cold.

This commercial is public service announcement to get kids involved with recycling. It made a difference. Kids started nagging parents to recycle.

  • The original Ronald McDonald is still alive. He is a weatherman for NBC.

  • I could never understand putting coffee in a styrofoam cup. Coffee is acidic. It leaks through the cup and your hand is wet while you hold the cup.

  • I always hated the sound of two pieces of styrofoam rubbing together. Its worse than scratching a chalkboard. Styrofoam is still used in packaging. If you receive styrofoam when purchasing a computer or whatever, don't throw it away. Send it back to the manufacturer. They can re-use it.

  • Obviously from this message it is basically telling us that we could have prevented Global warming if only we eat and enjoyed McDaonlds for every meal of the day including sncaks. Shame on you people who don't eat mcdoanlds. It's people like you who ruin this beautiful world we live in!

  • This commercial used to broadcast during Saturday morning cartoons. Kids listened to Ronald, they still do. We would go to the park and collect what were then "new" aluminum cans to recycle. This commercial also ran at the same time as the crying Indian commercial, who it turns out wasn't really an Indian. There was a collective movement from all facets of American Society during the 1970's to stop out of control littering and pollution. This commercial was McDonalds contribution.

  • @sammyreed Exactly.

  • @Shashkoila Best thing about the 70s was, you weren't there.

  • Back when you could buy a Cheeseburger with a quarter and get back change.

  • @timluvsdanielle F off, enviro nazi. Things were a lot better back then than they are now.

  • @timluvsdanielle Tim here is a perfect example of why collectivism is evil. The need to control every aspect of everything everyone does and says with no actual scientific understanding, only a slavish devotion to green cultism.

  • Producing fast food wastes so much fresh water yet they made these kind of commercials. Hypocrites.

  • what the hell does tht commercial have to do with McDonald's?!

  • @sammyreed - Just tried taking out some of the thermal things like you said, but it didn't seem to do anything so I unplugged them all and did a hard reboot. That did the trick. Don't worry guys, global warming is over now. Might see some hurricanes or abnormal North Atlantic currents until the drivers update.

  • piglet :oh i forgot

little piglet: hey wait a minute

  • I never saw a TV set with a McDonald's logo on it.
