In this video, I will show you how to shutdown/sleep your mac by sending a text message. If you have any concerns or comments, feel free to leave a comment or send me a message.
I got it to work. BUT: if there are certain applications open eg. google chat. It prompts you to navigate away from that page. So my question is, Is there a way to override those prompts and cause a forced shutdown with a text message?
you have to text your email address. Once it shows up, it will have a number followed by an email address. example: 6125555555@messaging.sprint.pcs. use this email address

@LeviScottD Causing a forced complete shutdown is not a very good idea. You can cause files to not close properly which can cause a little damage.
