These are some of the most popular Hindi "Sad Songs" of Indian Cinema, produced between 1949 and 1983. Apparently, there are so many but due to copyright issues, I had to skip many of them!
Please note that I have selected these songs as "Sad" considering ONLY the melody and not the lyrics since I do not know Hindi or Urdu languages.

"Hum Dono" or "Humdono" is a 1961 Hindi film produced by Dev Anand and Navketan films. Written by Vijay Anand, the film is directed by Amarjeet.
The film stars Dev Anand in a double role, and also has Nanda, Sadhana and Leela Chitnis.
Film is also known for its music by Jaidev.
Lyrics by Sahir Ludhianvi.
The film became a box office hit.
This is black and white film, however a coloured version of the film was released in June 2007.
Nominations; * Filmfare Nomination for Best Actor-Dev Anand. * Director Amarjeet was nominated for the Golden Bear at the 1962 Berlin International Film Festival.
The film has a superhit song "Mai Zindagi ka saath nibhata chala gaya" by Mohammed Rafi and the Lata solo "Allah tero naam". It also has the evergreen duet "Abhi na jaao chhodkar" by Mohammad Rafi and Asha Bhosle..............................
"Dharam Karam" is a 1975 Indian Hindi film produced by Raj Kapoor and directed by Randhir Kapoor, who also star as father and son in the film, respectively.
The film also stars Rekha, Premnath and Dara Singh.
The music is by R.D. Burman.
Lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri, who received a Filmfare nomination as Best Lyricist for the hit song "Ek Din Bik Jayenga." The song is played several times during the film, with playback singing by Mukesh, Kishore Kumar, and Sushma Shrestha. Of the three of them, only Mukesh received a Filmfare nomination as Best Male Playback Singer for the song.

The film stars Meena Kumari as the protagonist Ratna, and Rajendra Kumar, Honey Irani and Madan Puri in pivotal roles.
Music is by Ravi and lyrics by Prem Dhawan.................
