Bringing one that big into the boat while it's still kicking is dangerous. And to all the vegies out there that cry when they see something like this that fish probably produced about 100lbs of meet. My family tries to fill as many freezers as we can before the seasons out. Not only do we eat well all winter but so do our neighbors, friends and family. Instead of eating a bunch of nasty farmed garbage fish we eat this.

True story. Skiff found drifting, with big halibut & fisherman in it, both dead as doornails. They autopised the guy, and seem the fish was hauled into the boat alive and fighting, and busted the guy's thighbone, tearing the femoral artery. Guy bled to death, & the fish couldn't breathe air. This guy's lucky, because you may only have minutes to get medical help if your femoral artery is torn. Which is why you should shoot the big ones before boating them.

Its funny to listen to some of you "expert fishermen" flex nuts on this post. I'm from Ketchikan Alaska and I have done a little fishing myself not to mention on know tons of sport and commercial halibut fishermen. Stop pretending you know what your talking about you sissy bass river pussies! This sort of stuff happens all the time will halibut fishing most of the time they pack a pistol and just shoot the fucker but sometimes you just gotta beat the crap out of it, it's a fucking fish!!!
