  • @lepycelraun I hadn't measured the exact weight for this specific trip. But going throu my gear lists I guess it must have been something around 2,5 kg (50 gramms more or less) BPW (without consumables).

  • Very nice pack...I have admired Hendriks for quite a while...

I also have a ling handle Ti spoon and love it.

How do you like using those poles with your shelter? I was afraid that they would not offer as much versatility as other poles due to the way they go together. Seems like they really only offer 1 stable length.

Just curious, what temps can you use this setup to and what is a total weight?

Very nice kit. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us.

  • @1377stick These poles do have indeed a fixed length. Not a big problem if you've got a length of string and know the knots! ;-) I don't have grommets on my tarp so I have to tie the tarps ridge line to the poles. That leaves me the option to make it adjustable. Just doing it the RayWay! I've used these poles to pitch our shelter (GoLite ShangriLa 2) during our four weeks hinting trip in Iceland, too. Worked out very well!

  • I don't normally use the same setup twice as conditions on my trips are often very different. This was the first time I used my converted sleeping bag as a top bag. The night on this specific trip was indeed quite wet (condensation) and temperatures went down to 6C. Sleeped very warm and comfy and had still some of my clothes as a backup! (raincoat, wind shirt, socks). Think I could easily use it down to 0C and stay comfortable. Lesser would be possible but not desirable... ;-)

  • excellent love to see what other people carry. you have it light weight good stuff

  • Very nice setup my friend! It is always great to see how others are doing things. I must say that I really like your approach here... it is practical and functional. Thank you for sharing it :-)

  • @symmetrydesignlab Good eyes you've got there! The wallet is indeed a self-made one. I've used the design by mighty wallet. The watch is a Suunto Vector (now nearly 15 years old if I remember correctly).
