  • isn´t the bass on this song tuned half step higher,

so you basically have E,C changes and penty of open string tones?

  • No - the original is in F.

BTW - I read that Norman Watt Roy came up with the line soon after seeing Weather Report with Jaco, who inspired the line.

  • I grew up around Norman, he taught me some fundamentals about real music you won't find ANYWHERE else! First two lines he showed me were Midnight hour and Green onions and I've never looked back... I remember sitting with him listening to Jaco's 'Honestly,' amidst great plumes of yellow smoke, it changed the way I thought about music, just watching his enthusiasm alone is enough. Top Geezer

  • Wow - you're a lucky fella!! I really got to meet him sometime and thank the guy for being so good!.

  • He's Uncle Norman to meee!

He can play it backwards aswell. It's crazy but amazing.

One day hope i can play just as great... and dripping wet on stage!!! ;P

  • What's up, bro? You are a genius. Thanks for posting this.

  • Thanks a lot for publishing this. It took me right back to seeing the great man play this on the Tube in 1983 (in the studio, not on TV). It's inspired me to pick up the bass again after a bit of a break.
