A group of 27 people from all over the world went to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic on October 18 - November 3, 2009 to serve in two villages - Villa Ascension and Aguas Negras. We spent a lot of our time at Kids Alive (www.kidsalive.org), an organization that sets up schools and care centers all over the world - they have a thriving program in the DR. This trip was part of our training so that we can move on to our primary mission which is to serve on the Africa Mercy, a hospital ship in West Africa, which serves the poorest of the poor with free surgeries.
