  • Valjean with a mask.... Hmmm.... *tries to picture it, smiling*

  • In his defense it sounds like he's bound by the constraints of a backing track, which prevents him from playing around with the tempo, which in a lot of cases adds a lot of emotion to a song. Les Mis proved he can act, but he's still primarily a singer and he's never played the phantom, so he's never really had a chance to sing this song as passionately as someone playing the role

  • Beautiful. Imagine what would be created if we took the pure sound of Boe and the passion of Crawford and birthed a perfect musical offspring. :) The mind reels.

  • Bravo!!!

  • i think the "stiffness" maybe comes from the suit!! he can't loosen up!! who knows, but he has an amazing voice!! (and not bad to look at either!)

  • Alfie Boe is an excellently trained tenor! He is my favorite voice for nearly any role I have heard him sing. There is no way to evaluate and compare top notch singers. Michael Crawford (the original phantom) was excellent due to his great emotion! I love Ramin as the phantom also! They all bring something new to their part! Their is no comparism! It is great to see such an excellently trained tenor leave the realm of opera and perform these songs. He would make an amazing phantom also!

  • squeal...major major squal when i found this. I love his voice. put to my favorite musical i absolute died. only downside-alfie looks exhausted.

  • I believe I just died and went to heaven...ohhhhh so beautiful

  • He looks tired...I love his voice. Maybe with some rest, he could do much better

  • @samwardsamward um his acting in Les Mis was so forced, and wooden. His voice is pretty awesome but not expressive at all!!! you dont need change the tempo of the song to portray emotion!!! If he was in a mask that would be true but his face is uncovered and it was expressionless

  • I'am from Belgium and i like Alfie Boe very good tenor

  • superb! I'm a Big fan ever
