I like to think you got lucky in you unluckiness loosing your left arm instead of the right one, just like Rick Allen, so you can still reach those cymbals easily.

As far as reaching the cymbals goes, I could've just reversed the kit Phil Collins style and just played dominant left, so I don't see that as an issue.
