I have had some ppl ask about how I shoot and they requested some tips which I thot were overlooked & important.

NOTE: this is NOT an all inclusive class so it does NOT cover every topic in regards to shooting - there just some shooting tips so keep that in mind when your rate & comment.

:)

Anyway I hope this answers their questions.

  • Steve, You ramble as much as you like, you're doing this for the benefit of others, some people don't know about the pause as you exhale. Also you've proved you can shoot well too. Keep it up, Thanks.

  • @malcytull Thanks for the compliment.

    :)

  • Vid takes too long to say what needs to be said. Get into a comfortable prone position, shoulder the weapon, position your weak hand as far forward on the forend as possible, yet comfortably. Then pull the weapon straight back into your shoulder. Look down your sights, starting to control your breathing. Close your non dominant eye, if needed. Align the sights on the target, start squeezing the trigger at the pause after exhale the hammer should drop. Hold the trigger momentarily then release

  • Well I have been known to ramble.

Perhaps you should make a more condensed video - if you do, plz send me a message so I can watch.

    :)

  • Thank you Steve. I am shooting a compeition now and the 200 and 300 Im money at. But the 500 prone I just cant seem to figure out. Im gonna try these tips you have put in this video and Ill let you know how it works. I couldn't find many videos on this, but yours is very helpful. Thank you very much.

  • may i ask how far the last shots u took where?

  • Nice vid.., I would have liked to see your leg/knee/feet positioning also.

  • The one thing I noticed is your tip of the finger pointer. I may be wrong, but according to the army international shooting competition guide, the tip of your finger is only good for rifles with trigger weights greater than 3 lbs. Granted, most triggers are weighted to the weight of gun, hairpin triggers do exist and it says that these should be pulled using the middle of your finger. Is this correct?

  • im doing police training and i needed some extra assistance and this video was VERY HELPFUL To ME , thanxxxxx

  • @Kadavr thanks. i am able to score marksmen for shooting a sar-21 rifle but never tried wth m16 though.( i used a eyepatch for sar-21 and not m16)

  • @doomofworld I wear glasses; wore them when I carried an M16A2. The glasses would slide down my nose (you know...getting all sweaty after running through the sticks). Have well-fitting frames and an elastic strap to hold the glasses firm. Consider the size of the frames. If they're too small, & you're shooting prone, then the tops of the frames get in the way of your sights. When composing your site picture, your focus is on is the front site - target should be out of focus.

    Peace

  • Good training on how to fire from the prone... But as a trainer you always need to show discipline in gun safety... What I am trying to say is put the damn safety on and keep your weapon down range soldier...
