Had the pleasure of serving with SSgt Schaeffer in Afghanistan earlier this year. His rank never went to his head. One of the only SNCOs I've met who could just chill out and hang with some lcpls and not be awkward about it. It was unfortunate that he lost his leg. but he's handled it in great spirit. Truly admirable man.
