Thanks for the helpful comment. Since I made the first comment, I DID actually purchase an XTerra 705 with Gold Pack and a couple of other coils...Coiltec 15"DD WOT, and a 6"DD coil. I have to say that here in Southern CA, I've been very successful for the amount of gold detecting I actually do. Most of the time is spent in parks and at the beach. HH & Cheers!

@Docdaugh you could do just as well with a less expensive, more trusted brand. my experience with my explorer xs has left me feeling ripped off. 1000$ detector, cheap basic components like swithches and battery terminals that fail in less than 2 yrs. and im meticulous about how i keep my equipment. good luck

@Lifter85 I think I agree. Ive had an explorer xs for a while. Ive had to take the fucker apart in the field to fix the battery terminal, 1000$ machine, whathfk? Its cheaply made

Is touching high mineralized ground toxic hazardous to humans do we know?

@Lifter85 Every body sells something whether it's a product or a service. Look at the president . He promised gold and what did you get? LEAD!!! Exciting video people and a great hobby that hurts no one and cleans up the earth.

SEEMS LIKE PEOPLE TRYING TO MAKE MONEY BY TELLING PEOPLE THEY'LL BECOME RICH AND FIND GOLD...MORE LIKE YOU'LL BECOME RICH FOR SELLING THESE PIECES OF SHIT...DON'T BUY THESE!
I'm impressed! The Minelab is truly a performer from what I've seen and heard...but living on a fixed income, it's a little out of my range unless I could get a deal on a used one. The X-Terra I heard is also pretty good, what coil would you recommend?

@Docdaugh Hey Doc, I would probably recommend the X-Terra 705 Gold Pack, the stock coil is the 10-inch elliptical 18.75kHz high freq coil, which is great for small gold. If you purchase the standard X-Terra 705, you will get the 9-inch Round mid freq coil, which is better for coin and relics, also waterproof unlike the 10-inch elliptical. Hello Nuggethoggin, If you look at the bank, the target was originally a good foot or so deep. You are just seeing the end of the video once we got down. The video would have been 15-20 minutes of digging if I filmed the entire dig.

Just wanted to toss this out there also, Bruce Candy, one of Minelab's Engineers just was awarded one of the biggest awards for technology in Australia. Just goes to show what they have on their side. I truely wish White's, Fisher, Tesoro and others has the same, but they don't (at least at this time).

humm i think that needs to be proven on a case by case....or detector by detector basis....i dont think ya can lump all vlf into one basket......after all vlfs operates at differentl frequencies and the discrimination circuits are not all the same either. your profit on one of those is about 1k or more per sale,do the math folks

@buddymacs I do agree with you, some VLF's act differently, but for the most part the circuitry and technology is the same. There is a huge difference between 20-25 year old VLF technlogy and PI, let alone MPS, DVT and SETA advancements through Minelab. I'm not sure what profit has to do with anything, besides saying I'm pushing them over others. I sell just as many X-Terra 705's and Eureka Gold's, if not more.
