  • Any one know who did the piano version of this? Was it Floyd Cramer and anyone know how to het hold of it>

  • On this version tom Andersson from Norway played the piano. On Chet's original version it surely was Floyd Cramer. He was more of a jazzman than people seem to think, but that goes for all Nashville session players. I am not sure where you can get Chet's album with this on it. It is called Progressive Picking and was released in 1965 I think. My version here is not released.

  • Thank you for covering Chet's version of Satan's Doll from "Progessive Pickin' Your musicianship is brilliant.

Would you know who played the piano on Progressive Pickin' it was something else.

p.s. Your production work on these videos is awesome.

  • Thanks for your credit and nice words on this tune and elsewhere. Floyd Cramer played the piano on Progressive Pickin'. Unlike what most people think, he was one of the real great jazz players. As a matter of fact, most session musicians in Nashville had and has to be that now and then. Chet was credited by people like George Benson, Earl Klugh, Larry Carlton and a lot more, to be the most touchy jazz player ever to have been around. He was very different.

  • He did not play much rehearsed scales, only notes that he felt right, and he sounded so emotional, fast or slow. I am happy you liked this. This side of Chet is my favorite too.

  • Claes,

Do you have any CDs available? I enjoy your playing.

  • I am sorry. I guess they are all more or less out of print. You might try "Funky Junk".
