Sonic Unleashed Ships to Stores Across North America

SAN FRANCISCO (November 18, 2008) SEGA® of America, Inc. is happy to announce that Sonic Unleashed™ for the Wii™ home video game system and the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system has officially shipped to stores across North America. Packed with stunning internationally-inspired locations and classic fast-paced gameplay, Sonic Unleashed promises an action-packed adventure for gamers of all ages featuring an extensive variety of missions and puzzle stages as well as unlockable content throughout the game for players to uncover.

Developed by Sonic Team in Japan, Sonic Unleashed is filled with classic 2D/3D gameplay and incredibly fast daytime action. Sonic has a series of new moves that make him even faster including the Sonic Drift (to corner quickly without losing speed), Ring Energy (faster speeds brings more ring energy), QuickStep (to move side to side without losing momentum), and Sonic Boost (uses Ring Energy to give Sonic a speed boost)-each move allows Sonic to reach unparalleled high speeds. Bringing a new twist on the Sonic series, Sonic Unleashed also introduces the Werehog Sonics dark alter ego who comes out when the moon shines bright. Within the nightime levels, players can take advantage of the Werehogs strong and flexible arms to fight tough enemies using his powerful punch and crazy combat moves. Gamers can also use the Werehogs stretchy abilities to climb and swing reaching all new heights in the game.

Sonic Unleashed takes players around the world to beautiful environments inspired by Greece, China, Africa, the Arctic and many other exotic lands filled with twists and turns. In this epic adventure, Dr.Robotnik has once again wreaked havoc and, using the Chaos Emeralds, awakened a dark force known as the Dark Gaia. When the Dark Gaia wakes, he breaks apart the world, leaving Sonic to bring it back together. But the power used to wake this evil creature has also impacted our hero. When the nighttime arrives, Sonic transforms into the Werehog. Playing both daytime and nighttime levels, players will explore amazing environments and uncover a series of alternate paths, all with the goal to bring the world back to one united planet.

Sonic Unleashed will be available for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft on November 24th and the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system version available in December 2008

  • This is great and all, but this is 360/PS3 gameplay. Which is kinda unfitting for the title.

  • Well, this is the xbox360/ps3 version.

  • @Dr0sik no joke, 360 gamplay on a 360 only level

  • my fav level !

  • I want wii to stop making good games in to BAD quallity games and worse it is so anoying becuz u want the game but its so bad

  • wow when this first camed out yt lied to me about these lvls..till i bought the 360 version

  • Actually, this game was also released for the Wii. The only problem was they removed anything and everything that made it fun (good graphics, a majority of daytime stages, longer daytime stages, responsive controls, etc.).

  • You have a Sword and Rings Sonic game. This game was for PS3 and X360. It's just someone at SEGA decided: "Hey, let's make even more money!"

  • Hmph. Then you apparently haven't compared it to the other versions. I guess you can say the Wii version is better, but you're in the minority.

  • stop complaing i have for the wii and its just fine

  • I was disappointed with how they dumbed-down the Wii version.

1.The daytime levels are shorter and easier.

2.There was no area to explore besides the straight-forward levels.

3.There are less daytime levels and more nighttime levels.

4.The final boss is lame. Unlike the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, there is no skill involved in it.

5.You can't choose what you spend points on and you can't do anything to normal Sonic.

I hate how they always assume that Wii games need to be easier.

  • 103 moon MEDALS and like 96 sun medals and I got them all anyway.
