Activity Title: Fly Swatter

Skills used: Listening and Reading

Materials: two fly swatters, written vocabulary words on a board (or pictures)

Preparation:
• Write vocabulary words scattered on a board (also pictures can be used).
• Place two chairs in front of the board with the fly swatters on a table.

Directions:
• Divide the class into two equal teams.
• Have one student from each team sit in the chairs with their backs to the board
• The teacher says one of the vocabulary words on the board
• Students stand up, grab a fly swatter and try to find the word on the board
• Students get one swat and when the first student hits the right word gets one point for the team
• Unless a student hits the right word, no point is awarded.
• The next student from each team is up.
• Repeat until everyone has had at least one turn.
• After the game, check the meaning of the words all together.

Considerations:
• This game can be used with any student level and any class size.
