Here is a video I made of how to make a drum trigger for under $5.00!!!! you can get all of these parts from radioshack. all u need is a piezo and a 1/4 inch jack. please comment and let me know if this helps. PS I KNOW THE MUSIC IS TOO LOUD IM SORRY! but it is not that hard to do just solder the piezo to the jack and thats it. I will also be posting one on axis ekit triggers! soon

  • pretty cool i guess but would you bring these on tour or really trust this type of trigger for gigs?

  • actually I have gigged with them before and they work great!

  • do i NEED an external drum module for this to work? or can i somehow send this straight to a drumming software like ezdrummer. could i possibly send this into a toneport which then goes to the software? please anyone help me!

  • yes you need a external, to convert the signal

  • Faultless construction, cheap yes but now try fixing it to a pad or acoustic drum head and you'll get a permanent 'note on' effect.. Useless!

  • Actually I came up with something that holds it to the head just like a ddrum trigger. it works perfectly and it doesn't false trigger....

  • why would you render your voice practically unintelligible with terrible music in the background?

  • Am not trying to start a fucking flame war but why do alot of drummers concider triggers as cheating?

  • @bjc92 What did you come up with? I'll be putting together a makeshift drum kit soon and i'll have to cross that bridge.

  • @lokenovez Because when you trigger a drum you're replacing the natural drum sound. and no matter how soft or hard you hit the drum the volume stays the same.

  • I can't hear a thing you're saying, whats the point of this vid?

  • positive is mono and negative is on the entry of the jack (interrogative) :( or viceversa My keyboard doesnt work.

  • positive is mono and negative is on the entry of the jack (interrigative) :( My keyboar doesnt work

  • if i had to extend the wires, which we all probably need to....what size wire are the red and black.? anyone.?

  • thanks, this helped alot : )

  • Turn the music off! I can't hear anything you say. :)

  • do you really have to take it out of the case?couldn't you just connect the jack to it as is or would it not work that way?

  • This is exactly what i've been looking for, thanks man! What kind of wire would you need if you needed more length from the actual peizo to the 1/4 input? Oh and ignore all the s-bags that leave negative comments, this video helped some and thats all that counts.
