  • This is a Cloutie Dumpling from the Highlands and Islands. Christmas plum pudding is something along the same lines but much richer and usually steamed in a bowl and it does have plums in it in their dried form of prunes, plus figs (hence 'figgy pudding'), dates, sultanas, currants, raisins, lemon and orange peel and sometimes cherries and apple. What you have here is a Scottish delicacy and a traditional Hogmanay Dish!

  • We have found a witch, may we burn her? Stop meddlin' with witchcraft and making foul bread pudding with plums (that has no plums).

    Burn the witch!

  • Take the ingredients of a bread pudding and add plums?

Where I come from, we make bread pudding with bread, raisins, eggs and milk. A plum pudding has suet (kidney fat), raisins, currants, dried fruits, brandy, egg yolks and flour.

The texture and taste are completely different...

But you wear a nice hat so you're forgiven :D

  • i love plum pudding! Serve it every christmas!
