The industry does not dictate to the rappers what to say. The labels just do not censor the lyrics they use if it has the potential to make money off of other ignorant fools. The rappers themselves come up with the lyrics. Sony surely did not tell Ice-T to rap about killing cops. Or call his album "Body Count". That is just plain ignorance. Mao is about mass control and mass murder for power.

Please also watch the interview of the late Sulaiman El Hadi of The Last Poets and LL Cool J speaking on rap (hip-hop), and listen to the late Gil Scott-Heron's "Message to the Messengers."I hope the current artists out there today listen and take note so that instead of leading to our "Self-Destruction", they can contribute to our 'Rise" as a people!

One thing to keep in mind about many of these rappers is that many are on independent labels so I'am not sure if the major labels are controlling them as much as being suggested here. Also,I wished too many revolutionaries from the 60's and 70's hadn't got caught up in reading folks like Mao. All you got from communist like them were dictatorships and bad economies. Not much revolutionary about that.
