"Velocity Girl" was the first track off the NME C86 compilation, and the name was used as a band name of a 90s indie pop band. Primal Scream featured, among others, Bobby Gillespie, drummer from The Jesus and Mary Chain. Many consider this to be one of the most simple, yet recognizable and memorable, songs off the C86 compilation tape. The song is often considered to be about heroin, as Bobby was certainly so stranger to smack himself.
short, sweet and lovely :)

I owned this C86 compilation! it ruled but who knew it would prove so influential, as it has, many bands cite it as a definate influence, shite, it may have been better if it were never pressed as it was mainly just lofi manic fun ;)

NMEC86 is a classic! A masterpiece that has to be taken care of and cherished. And this is such a lovely song...

I would have been lost without that compilation, I got into it a couple of years ago thanks to a then girlfriend and it really opened up my ears, helped me to discover bands that I totally missed out on or would have been too young to know anything about during their heyday. And this song, such a classic, short-but sweet b-side from the Primals.

i think it's more about speed(velocity) than smack
primal scream didn't have their smack years until the early 90s
still a lovely song
