Well, we're not all like that. FWIW I've always seen it more like women trying to out-do each other.
Check out women men have drawn (i.e. their "fantasy" women) and you'll almost never find them going for the skin-and-bones types. Cases in point- Jessica Rabbit, Lois Griffin, most women in any Anime/Hentai I've seen. Even in porn it's not hugely prevalent.
So I'd say it's definitely a misconception that guys like it!

I agree with Kelli Ali, they had a perfect balance. Becoming X is one of the best albums of the 90s and possibly one of the best albums ever made. Poppy but cool.
