@fijikid80 Back in the 1800s Hawaiian was used to denote all people of Hawaii and the Native were called Native Hawaiians. No one is trying to say that Hawaiians weren't the original people of Hawaii. It's merely saying that any new Hawaiian sovereign government can't be race-based because the Kingdom of Hawaii was never race-based.

Everybody already knows that Father Damien was NOT Hawaiian at all, but a Belgian priest and a resident of the Kingdom of Hawaii. Even if people were citizens of the Hawaiian Kingdom, there was a distinct difference between people of Hawaiian ancestry and those who were just citizens of the Hawaiian Kingdom. Real Hawaiians were always recognized as Hawaii's original people and had a special place in their homeland.

I like your videos. Are you a t.v. Personality cause your voice sounds so firmilar
Hawaii is a place, not a race. A "real" Hawaiian doesn't need any specific bloodline.
